Who can live at Nine?
Every student aged 18 to 27, currently enrolled in a university or language program in Lisbon.
Do I have to sign a contract?
Yes, according to Portuguese law, every person renting a room must have a valid contract for the time of their stay.
What is the duration of the contract?
At Nine Student Living, the minimum contract period we offer is minimum 5 months throughout the academic year. For students taking a summer course or internship, shorter contracts are available.
What is included?
Free high-speed WIFI, access to common rooms, kitchen and courtyard.
Water, gas and electricity are also included, but with a limit of €50 per person/month (calculated per room). It is a large limit that will provide more than enough comfort for your stay at Nine Student Living (as long as you don’t forget to turn off your lights or leave the water running then you should be fine!).
Each room will come with bedsheets, pillow and a duvet.
For the kitchen, the main instruments (pans, bowls, trays etc.) will be provided. Plates and cutlery will not be included.
How can I receive my mail?
Our office staff will collect and sort your mail for you. Each resident has a secure mailbox, which they share with around 5 students living in the building.
Am I allowed to have guests?
You are allowed to invite as many guests as you would like throughout the day. You are also allowed to have overnight guests however you will need to inform the Nine Operations Team via email beforehand and ask for authorization.
What documents do I need to Check In?
To check in you will need to have a copy of your passport, VISA (If you are not EU resident), and proof of university enrollment (or internship).
Do I have to pay anything in advance?
Once you receive an email with your booking confirmation, you have to pay a deposit of 600€ to secure your room. This deposit will be refunded to you upon check out, providing your room is left in the same conditions as when you checked in. We also require a registration fee of 40€ to cover the Lisbon rental tax, on the day of arrival to the residence.
Can I book my room on the website?
No, you can not book your room on the website.
You can only pre-book your room online by filling out the pre-booking form in the floating icon on the bottom right of the room page. Then, our team will carefully read your request and answer you back confirming or not, your reservation.
Do I need a a Guarantor?
No, you will not need a guarantor.
